Lyrics > Innocent Mrs. N

Innocent Mrs. N

She came to me in another city.
I visited her in her Hilton Old Town.
She said: “My dear, it’s a pity
But we can’t do what you are thinking about,

Cause I am married, and this is where I stand
I am married, I hope you can understand
I am married, and you are only a friend
I am married and want to stay innocent”.

I got a feeling of Sisyphus at the ridge.
We went from the hotel and we walked around.
We hugged on the streets, we kissed on the bridge
And then she shook her head: “Don’t think about,

Cause I am married, and this is where I stand
I am married, I hope you can understand
I am married, and you are only a friend
I am married and want to stay innocent”.

What would Faust do in my place?
I said: “Farewell”, turned and went out
But I came back and kissed the hem of her dress
And promised her not to think about

Cause I loved her, and this is where I stand
I loved her, and could understand
I loved her, and I was only a friend
I loved her, and I wanted her to stay innocent
